About the event

This webinar explores the disproportionate impact of environmental hazards on Black communities and the systemic policies that perpetuate these inequities.


Participants will learn about advocacy strategies, community-led solutions, and the importance of environmental justice in achieving sustainable development. This session is ideal for environmental advocates, cooperative enthusiasts, and anyone interested in equitable, community-driven solutions to environmental justice challenges.


Speakers

Briana Parker is the Senior Director of the Accelerator at Elevate, where she advances equitable solutions for clean and affordable energy and water. She leads strategic partnerships, capacity-building initiatives, and technical assistance for community organizations addressing environmental inequities.


A part-time social work professor at Wayne State University, she specializes in community development and equity. A skilled facilitator and systems thinker, Briana fosters collaboration through workshops on environmental justice and organizational development.
